No hardwired connection, wifi slow, shower tiny

WiFi was very slow at best, hard wired connection was non-existent (disgusting for an executive suite). The shower was absolutely tiny (and couldn't move or otherwise adjust the head, which for a 6'1 bloke, made showering very difficult), there was no fridge, desk was tiny, and to make it worse, only breakfast was toast or cereal (no cooked breakfast at all, or any other food), and filtered coffee/tea or orange etc. Oh and, if you drink more than 2 tiny cups of coffee per day - take your own mugs/coffee and UHT milk (nowhere local to get UHT, and heat in the rooms made the fresh milk I bought, go off within 24 hours). Given the executive suite was £375 total, the room I got, was very inadequate. Staff at the hotel however, were fantastic. If you're not going to be spending any time at the hotel (other than sleeping), and are very small (ref the shower), then it's expensive, but would be perfect.

Excellent location for getting about London, very disorganized and choatic at times.

Could,nt beat location or how clean the hotel was but it seemed disorganized and some staff
(not all) were very rude and had no people skills! Breakfast was complete choas. Staff on reception were very pleasant. Our shower broke on the first night and was,nt fixed during our stay even though we reported it twice and waited for over an hour and a half on saturday morning to have it fixed maintenance man was supposed to fix it when we were our but that never happened. Yes it was reasonably priced for area but i felt there was room for improvement!

Cheap, quiet & very pleasant

Room- small but had everything that was needed.
Staff- friendly, helpful & plenty of them for breakfast
Food- basic but good selection.
Location- we thought the location was great, quiet for London, close to tube stations.
Only negative was the drainage of the sink in the room and the shower head fell off once....such small things didn't need to mention it to staff.

Pretty good

Clean rooms but the staff were not very welcoming. The room was small with plastic covering under the sheets. The windows were not clean and rattled with the cold wind. The heat was high but the breeze from the window could be felt. The curtains were horrible and didn\'t close well. Breakfast was not bad. It was a bit dear for what it was. The location, though a bit far from the centre, was charming.

Do not like paying for rooms on arrival. You have the card details in case of non payment. What procedure if the accommodation is not up to standard? Value for money is a hard yardstick to go by. We are used to paying this amount with silver service dinner included so in comparison very poor especially the Brompton, I would not recommend this to anyone the Alni was slightly cheaper but better. Have family member at The Royal Marsden Hospital,my son so NOT business or leisure. Would look at a rebate for all Royal Marsden people.

I chose this hotel as it was in the same area as the hotel my friend was getting married in and one that was more reasonably priced. I have no complaints at all with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel overall, it was very well maintained and I would definately recommend it. The only thing I did find was that the customer service on reception could have been a little more friendly, I found the person on reception to be a little abrupt, so I think customer service needs to be improved but this would not put me off from staying again should I be in the area.

Rooms are basic and small - our bathroom door did not open fully as it banged into the bed in the room and it wasn't possible for both myself and my husband to be at the bathroom sink at the same time. However, we were only there for one night so the size didn't bother us. More important than the size, the room was immaculate, extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. For a "no frills" hotel in such a great location, it is very good value for money. The breakfast is poor with no hot food available.

The hotel is well situated in a quiet area and within easy walking distance of the underground. The staff were very friendly and accomodating to requests for assistance. Our stay was for two nights - the room was spacious enough for our requirements, although the en-suite was a little cramped. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and all facilities in good working order. Unfortunately the TV only had terrestrial channels which was a bit limiting to watch. The breakfasts were adequate for our needs.

Good Value, maybe a bit hit and miss with the rooms

We stayed here whilst visiting Earls Court - the location was excellent but having booked two double rooms, we got a double and a triple room. One of the rooms had a full air con unit whilst the other only had a fan, so it seems the standardisation isn't quite there and you may either 'get lucky' or not.
However the people working there were friendly, allowed us to store our bags, the rooms were clean and big enough for our purpose, but not that large if you were going to be spending much longer in them other than sleeping. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable, but simple.

Would not stay here again!

We were not happy with our recent stay at Avni at all. Firstly, we had wanted/booked a double room and the only room they could offer on the day of arrival was a twin bed room. The beds were so uncomfortable, we had very unrestful nights throughout our stay. It was either too hot or too cold in the room, and the curtains did not manage to keep the sun out. We asked for an extra pillow and some more milk for making tea in the room and were told these were unavailable as domestic staff had left. The reception staff did not seem to make any effort to look after our comfort. We had a most uncomfortable stay and came back feeling annoyed and tired. We will definitely not be going back!

Second Stay at Avni Kensington

This was our second stay at the Avni Kensington as we stayed there last spring as well. It is a great value for the money, given the expense of a London hotel. It is also very nicely located just blocks from the Gloucester tube station and many of the museums and other London tourist sites. It was very central to getting all over London.
The rooms are on the smallish side, but very clean. The front desk staff is helpful when asked, although the staff seems to be made up of primarily young, university-type students and they aren't quite as "aggressively friendly" as what you'd see in a larger hotel.
Breakfast is fine. Not fancy, but decent and included with the room. There is limited seating however, so we just brought our breakfast back up to our room. Good, strong espresso coffee and pitchers of steamed milk!
They don't have much in the way of extra services (internet laundry, work out facilities), but we didn't need them, neither did we want to pay for them.
Would definitely stay there again.

I thought the area was great, very central but not too noisy. Great reasonably priced restaurant at bottom of road, plus lots of other places to eat. The room was very clean but only blinds on window and no curtains therefore a lot of the street light poured into bedroom through the night. TV reception wasn't great and couldn't get many channels. Breakfast was fine toast, cereal or fruit and decent coffee but very chaotic when trying to make toast etc. and left standing around on first morning not knowing where to get plates and mugs etc. from. Staff didn't noticed people coming in to breakfast room not knowing what the drill was as they were so busy - perhaps it is not always like this, but they all seemed very pleasant. Shower door not properly working when we arrived but this was sorted straight away.

Nice room sorry about the breakfast service

Reception was very friendly and helpful (although we didn't receive the extra pillows requested). The room was pleasant with two french windows leading out onto a balcony. It was spotlessly clean and although small and minimalist was very nice with a large 6ft bed and very modern en suite. The bed was comfortable and it was warm enough with the help of the heating/air conditioning unit on the wall.
Breakfast was a sorry occasion. Although basic (cereals, juice etc) the waitress met us as we walked in to say that they had run out of bread and that someone had gone to the shop to fetch further supplies. We had to ask for plates, spoons, etc and although these were given to us the service was abrupt and not particularly good (although again was very clean).
This hotel could be really good but the breakfast service lets it down badly. For the price it was good value and if the breakfast service improves we would certainly visit the hotel again.

You almost got what you ordered

I was travelling with my mother-in-law and therefore requested twin beds. There was no such type of room available so we we were put in a standard double bedroom. Told the reception that in no way we could sleep in such a bed and were give a superior double bedroom in the cellar with the promise that the next day we would get twin beds. The bed in the cellar was slightly larger but the room smelled musty. The next day we were told that no twin beds were available. The clerk was a new one and I have a feeling that the clerk previous evening promised us twin beds knowing very well he would not be on duty and could promise us almost anything!!!! Anyhow we got a new superior double room on 2nd floor which met our expectations, light and airy and a bed we could sleep in (though we had to ask to have an extra blanket and sheet in both "superior" rooms). I am very fond of my mother-in-law, but sharing a bed and bed clothes with her is not my topmost priority!!! One more complaint: there was no remote control in our last room. I was promised that it would be there when we returned to the hotel later the same afternoon, but guess what - it wasn't there!!!
