Spacious room - for London standards! Clean and comfortable. Had a queen size bed which I found fancy for a single room. Conveniently located, walking distance from either Gloucester Rd or Earls Court underground stations. Sainsbury's superstore also nearby.

Recently refurbished hotel, therefore very clean and tidy. But I found my room very small with a small window and I could not make telephone calls to outside which was very unfortunate.

We stayed 4 nights in room no. 213. Warm welcome at the reception. Although small everything we needed was available: Nice room. Comfortable bed. Clean carpet and bathroom. Small closet and desk. Area is safe and very close to underground and busstop. Breakfast was simple; we loved the warm toast with melting butter.

It is worth it, not very far from the Gloucester Road Tube Station (8min), near a Local Tesco (open until 22h). very clean, very posh neighborhood, superb facilities, friendly helpful people.
If I have to point a disappointment it will be the breakfast, don't expect too much from it, it is a continental one: milk, cereals, coffee, little slices of bred, little boxes with jam, little butter packets, little cheese packets. But, as I said it is worth it to stay there, quiet, clean and new facilities.

We were a little nervous about booking a place and not knowing anything about it. So it was a pleasant suprise to find a helpful staff and a nice clean room. Our room was in the back so it was very quiet, we were able to open our windows without being disturbed at all. I would high recomend the Avni to my freinds. It was close to many things that we ended up walking instead of the Tube or taxi's. The breakfast was simple, cereal, fruit, toast, juice, coffe and tea. You helped yourself and there was plenty of it. The room was small to American standards but it had everything that you would need. The bathroom was very clean and nicely laid out. Our stay was very pleasant and we would go back any time.

Very good value for the area of London. My room was a bit small but new and clean.
A few problems. The curtains let too much light in so I got woken up in the morning. They need to invest in some blinds. There is no air con, and it is noisy in the morning if you open the window.
Breakfast is basic continental, buts its ok, and its included in the price.
If you want somewhere to stay in this area at a low price then this place is overall ok.

I was very impressed with how clean i found my room on my return each evening. Top marks!
I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the matress, one side was well used and very springy. Also was supprised to see there was no matress cover, just the bed sheet directly on the matress.
Overall very impressed. Excellent hotel location!

To start with I was given a room with a leak, a broken telephone and a picture that had fallen down, when I complained he already knew the room was in that state, secondly I asked the hotel to provide me a taxi, they gave me someone who had no idea where they were going, I had to give him my sat nav to find his way... Making me well over half an hour late for a course, on a journey that should have took just over 5 minutes.

A bit reluctant based on previous reviews. This place however has very recently been refurbished and whatever it must have looked like in the past, the current situation is splendid. The size of rooms varies a bit and is not extremely large, but I was happy enough with it. The bathroom which was slightly small was nevertheless in an excellent state and finished up to a high standard. Most important of all was the fact that everything was very clean ! It was not very noisy (except that some doors slam closed due to some mechanism) and its location close to the sub was perfect. Nevermind my rating for the breakfast, cause I'm a picky eater and the b-fast would probably suit most people.

I didn't really like the hotel its too basic for the price, It wasn't really greatly staffed (Or finished for that matter) The receptionist wasn't english and was on the phone most of the time so there were long waits. I also found that everything was lacking customer service, You could just walk in and say Hey i'd like my room key i left here at reception its room number *** and they would just give you the key!! Not reccomended.

The final night they forgot to clean the room.. which in this case was not an issue as I came late .. best part out of my tree.. and as I did complain there is no issue... breakfast is simple & diy.

The AVENI hotel I cannot comment on as we were shipped out to another apartment when we finally got there. We had trouble finding the hotel bycar as the directions we had from the web site were not clear at all. We phoned the hotel to ask for help and had a very rude and unhelpful man on the other end who could not grasp that we were in a car! We explained exactly where we were and he still could not help us. When we had given up on him we travelled 100m down the road and there the hotel was!! When we went into the lobby he was very rude saying we didnt tell him where we were adn we got even more angry when we saw he had a computer infront of him and was actually using street finder as we spoke to him. He then said there was a problem with one of the beds and we were to pay him immediately and then go to an appartment block and we should be happy because it costs more to stay there!! When we got to the appartments we had much better service and it was fab but they did say the reason for us going there was because AVENI was overbooked!!! We didnt go back for breakfast as we couldnt face seeing the man there again! Will never use then ever again and if you expect good customer service then I suggest you go somewhere else too. Car parking is not readily available either there are no car parks near.

this is a review of the Abcone Hotel - as we needed to be moved due to a 'problem' with our room at the avni. despite this the person at the avni was very helpful and had pre-booked the room at the abcone. the abcone was a clean if small room. the only poor aspect of the stay was the poor choice at breakfast. they could make much more of it by having a little fruit and proper cheese rather than processed burger cheese - not much as the rest it was fine. staff were efficient and helpful.

Not impressed within the check at reception. Having completed a debit card transaction, they still insisted that I fill out one of their forms for them to keep with my address and full debit card details on, including security code! Thought this was highly irregular. Then they wanted photo ID but I didn't have any with me. Then they asked for my passport number or drivers licence number. Er, unfortunately I couldn't remember it off the top of my head!
Despite being an executive room, it was small and basic, though very clean and the shower room looked newly refurbished. However, wouldn't stay there again.

The rooms are NOT all air conditioned as...
The rooms are NOT all air conditioned, as advertised, but the hotel says this is the fault of LateRooms, as it has allegedly been made clear that only 'executive' rooms have air conditioning. In the current heatwave in London, no air conditioning is bad news for us non-executives, and i personally would not risk staying here in the summer again. The windows do open, however, which some would prefer to air conditioning anyway.
Our room also lacked the advertised safe: one was promptly brought, but just placed on a shelf without being properly secured, so it was not 'safe' at all and was not used: we had to trail round in the heat with our valuables on us. If I stay here again, I'll check first that the room to be booked has a properly installed safe.
Apart from these two problems, the hotel was pretty good, with a most convenient location and reasonable rates. The rooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard, with stylish fittings and decor and excellent firm beds and fine shower. The breakfast was just what we wanted: muesli and other cereals, various fruit juices and lots of fresh fruit, different types of bread for toasting, plus honey and various jams and cheeses, etc. Finally, the reception staff were charming, friendly and helpful.
So I expect to be back -- but not in the summer ...

The room was lovely and the bed and bathroom great although the basin was miniscule. The heating was very noisy and it didn't go off when we turned it down - teething problems I guess as decor was not finished around the hotel. Fortunately we could open the windows. The breakfast room was also very hot and the windows couldn't be opened. It was not really big enough for everyone and could have benefitted from some breakfast rolls so that we didn't all have to queue for the toasters.

poor quality customer service. Employees did not offer assistance with luggage and spent time smoking on the front steps. breakfast room was dirty with minimal choice. expensive triple room which was a twin room with a very small and uncomfortable stretcher bed. the ensuite was the size of a matchbox. There was no leg room between the toilet and the toilet door. There was no constructive advice given for alternative parking options as they do not offer parking. I will not be staying there ever again.

As I arrived at the hotel all looked well and I thought I had made a good choice. How wrong could I have been!! first of all I find that there is no parking and the receptionist could not help me with that then I find that the room is a double and not a twin and then when they do finally get it right and I go to my room it was so small that it should have been classed as a single not a twin!! I thought there website was very misleading the rooms were well over priced and I would definitely not stay there again.

I stayed with a colleague for one night, about 1 week after the hotel opened.
I wasn't overly impressed with the hotel, though in their defence it looked like it was still being built.
A few points:
1. Reception only had 1 person working, and was always busy
2. Room ok - no remote control for the tv, only 4 channels, and the shower head pointed well away from where it should
3. Breakfast - restaurant felt like a canteen, "breakfast" was actually "continental breakfast" and the cereals tasted cheap.
4. No bar or gym/pool - I've never been to a 4* hotel without these?
It was OK, though I only stayed there due to their claim of 4* - I won't stay again

Wires hanging out of the walls (sans lights). No in-room iron (as advertised). No literature to let me know when and where breakfast was or what the emergency procedures were, no signs to direct me round hotel, no handle/lock on the front door. No sign/name on hotel, just a peice of paper stuck onto door and windows. Rooms at the front of the hotel were stuffed with work materials etc.
Additionally, no internet available - how can any modern hotel not have the internet - especially one so close to Earls Court were hundreds and thousands of businesses visit each month?
This will be a really nice hotel - but is certainly not a 4* (Self Rated) as shown on the site (at least not at the moment). The room was clean but very minimal, the bathroom was clean and well furnished - even though I couldn't was in the sink due to its small size and position of tap.
I would return to this hotel when finished, as I see it being a quality place once all work is completed.
My advice to the owners would be close the place down, finish the work and then re-open... as the current state is doing you a disservice.
