The room was clean with modern features, and a very clean bathroom. Breakfast was good with a choice of fruits, cereals, and juices. As we had a room onto the mews the nights were very quiet. The location is perfect because Earls Court tube station is only a five minutes walk away. Excellent value for money. For sure I will come back and stay in this hotel again.

The bed was comfortable and the shower room very good: all that one needed for an overnight stay.Breakfast was adequate but did not contain wholemeal cereals thus proving a grave disappointment!

We had a lovely stay at the Avni Kensington. While the rooms and bathrooms are very small, we've stayed in rooms just as small in New york City. Its the price you pay for a reasonable room in an expensive city like London. The hotel was perfectly situated approx 3 blocks from the Gloucester Tube station, a short walk to the V&A and Natural History Museums and a slightly longer walk to Hyde Park. It was really convenient to have access to the Picadilly, Circle and District lines on the tube. There were plenty of decent restaurants a few blocks up on Gloucester Road. We patricularly enjoyed the Gloucster Arms Pub. The front desk staff was not terribly friendly (welcoming you when you walked in the door, etc.), but they were happy to fulfill requests when asked. They just weren't "aggressively friendly". Maybe that's an American thing. Breakfast was quite adequate and the staff worked really hard to keep to table cleared and to refill coffee, milk, juice, bread, etc. The coffee (most important!) wasgood and strong. I missed having a little meat at breakfast, but there was plenty of cheese. The room was very clean and neat. The hotel doesn't offer any "extra" services to speak of, but we didn't need them and dion't want to pay for services we don't use like laundrey, etc. All in all, it was a great place to stay with a decent, clean room and breakfast for the money and location. Would definitely stay there again if in London.

I found the hotel to be very clean and my room was a standard size. I was satisfied with the hotel itself and it was a good location. I was however very dissapointed with the hotel reception staff. There was a mix up with the payment, for our rooms and I found the member of staff to be very unhelpful with this matter and he seemed unable to do anything without calling his manager who was never actually at the hotel to help. We finally got it sorted but it was a problem that should never have occured. Overall, the hotel was fine.

The hotel was expecting me on the wrong night - the day before my actual booking. The receptionist would not deal with the problem despite a call from me and Late Rooms, but instead said that he would have to refer it to the manager in the morning. I was even told that I may have to pay to move my room to the next day. I therefore travelled to London with my overnight case, not knowing if I had a room or not or whether I would be charged, despite it being the hotel's mistake. The room and corridor were extremely hot and therefore uncomfortable. Although there was an electric fan next to the bed it was too noisy to leave on all night - I therefore woke at 3am and 5.15am due to the heat, although it was a normal weather day in April. My colleague had the same problem the night before and the receptionist would not move him until again consulting with the manager the next day. He was then moved to an air conditioned room. The receptionists do not seem to be given the authority to make simple decisions in order to aid the guest's stay, that in other hotels would be a matter of routine.

This was a small room (just twice the size of the bed!), but modern and spotlessly clean. Too warm and the heating not controllable, but the street outside is not too noisy so I opened the window. Breakfast was included but pretty basic - cereal and toast. Coffee strong but strange.Good for a one night stay, and convenient - 5 mins walk from Gloucester Road Tube.

Absolutely adequate accommodation for our one-night stop over theatre trip to London, as mum with 2 children (12yr). Streets around Glocs Road tube felt safe and quiet at night (5 mins walk). Hotel room spotless and children thought the tiny bathroom was a novelty! High ceiling room so didnt feel too cramped. Room to sleep 3 was a double bed and single so maybe wouldn't always be ideal! Breakfast room had more of a student / mass catering feel but again fine for a family travelling. Seemed to have lot of French visitors, not so many English. Corridors/lift very clean, but entrance hall didn't have a great feel about it. Would happily recommend hotel and would stay again.

Having stayed in London many times over the last few years, I have experienced many different types of "budget" accommodation. The Avni Kensington is certainly one of the best hotels around for the price. The location is superb and is only 5 minutes walk from Gloucester Road tube station, there are plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate area, which itself is very pleasant. The hotel is immaculate, nicely decorated in a modern style and the rooms are well equipped and of a good size. The breakfast is good but basic, there are no cooked options (except toast). If I was being picky the only complaint I had was the TV didn't have freeview, although I guess this will change after the switch over. (But who's goes to London to watch television?!) I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good location to stay and explore London from.

Trying to pick a decent hotel in London, within a set budget, will never be easy, but the Anvi is in a good area, convenient for Gloucester Rd tube station, has a modern interior, is very clean, room was quite adequate with a nice shower room, though an electric shaver point would be useful. Continental breakfast had a good choice, but perhaps needs a little more serve yourself space, a bit of a scramble to collect your things and do your toast. Overall very acceptable as we didn't really know what to expect from London hotels.

Pleased at the standard. Renovated a year ago but looks and feels more recent than that. Clean and fresh, much better than many hotels of this standard in this area. Comfortable bed. Quiet position at the side of the hotel. Well tiled and adequate bathroom with a modern walk-in shower. Had a double room; not big, but a reasonable amount of space and suitable for a couple of nights. Adequate continental style breakfast. 5 minute walk to Gloucester Rd. tube. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel was perfect for a one-night business stay in london. The hotel is nice on arrival, however the staff at the main desk aren't very helpful. My room was incredibly clean, however I would advise asking for an extra pillow and turning the heating down if you leave your room for a night-out, as the heat on my return was unbearable and with the noisy street outside opening a window whilst getting to sleep isn't ideal. The hotel is in a relatively safe area if you are travelling alone and is just two minutes walk from the tube station (which has a Tesco express directly opposite). My room was an ideal size for a single, there is a in-room safe, wardrobe with hangers and the en-suites are all modern. There was also a TV with channels 1-5 with okay reception. I would not advise the hotel for a relaxing trip, business only.

Avoid rooms on 5 floor under the roof - mine 507 had no air flow - at -2 outside, radiator off and small roof window open the room was stuffy and too hot to sleep. THe cold air from outside just could not flow into the room. I changed because a colleague was leaving to a room on the ground floor - better. Breakfast is very basic, minimalist. For a central London hotel , I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean and spacious double room with a roomy en-suite (having stayed in some cramped closets for similar prices in the past). Everything was clean and in good repair, except perhaps for some stained blankets. The area was quiet and within easy reach of the tube station. Reception was a rather impersonal experience however, and breakfast a little limited in its selection. I would stay again, though, assuming all rooms are of the same calibre.

Smoothly run hotel, well located near Royal Albert Hall, Victoria and Albert Museum, The Natural History Museum. Had no hassles for our stay, we were able to store our luggage after we checked out so as to enjoy our stay without carting it around, the room was clean, reasonably quiet & appeared secure. For the cost, I was totally happy. If they charged more I would want more shower gel (only 1 small sachet between 2 of us), a bath (only a shower), & better layout of the dining area (was really difficult to get to breakfast things when the room was busy and the toasters were slow & ineffective). I definitely recommend this hotel.

I've never felt the urge to write a review before, but felt compeled. The reason is simply that the hotel gets everything right, simple clean rooms, breakfast included, reasonable location tube wise but the rooms are so hot they are quite uncomfortable. Despite the small window being left open all day still too hot. A small fan attached to the small desk indicated this was a longstanding problem. I overheard other guests expressing similar dissatisfaction because of the heat. Fix this and I'd give you a 9/10 score. As it stands I would probably not return because of this issue.
