£112 for a shoe box - welcome to London!

The rooms are clean and fairly modern. But I was given a shoe-box sized single room in the rafters which was absolutely tiny. The single bed was crammed against an extremely drafty sash window so I shivered all night and barely slept. How they can possibly justify charging £112 for this (a single room as well!) is beyond me. You can anticipate to be hit with a surprise credit card fee as well.
Expect a wait and a queue for breakfast.
On the plus side its v close to kings cross and st pancras so at least you can get make a swift get-away.

Perfect for St Pancras

Just stayed overnight as had an early train in the morning. The hotel is 2 minutes from Kings Cross, clean, friendly and we were able to have breakfast at 5.30 am which I was most impressed about! The staff were really helpful and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel.

Clean comfortable accommodation Near King's Cross/St Pancras

I was attending a day conference so booked this room for the night before to be near the station I arrived at . It was very convenient. Clean recently upgraded, warm, and I was upgraded to a double room(although it was a very small room for a double). The breakfast was plentiful and good with full English, fruit etc. All the staff were helpful and courteous.

Great little place on a quiet road right opposite St Pancras clock tower.

Everything was fine for a one-night business trip. The receptionist volunteered to upgrade my booking from a single to a double room. My small but clean and modern room was in an unmarked, elegant 'house' opposite the main hotel. This was actually quite a pleasant change and I enjoyed the sense of having my own front door in central London! I didn't have time for breakfast so can't comment on the hotel catering.

Nice place

The Alhambra is the nicest looking hotel in a whole street of hotels. Very close to St. Pancras Station.
Rooms are not large but are clean and well equiped. Breakfast was good.
Our only problem was the lack of a lift.

All staff very helpful from start to finish. Room changed to ground floor without even being asked, Kitchen staff served me breakfast before kitchen even opened, so I could catch a very early train. Quiet & very clean. Maze-like, a little like being down the rabbit-hole in "Alice" but that just adds to the experience!

Small but very good

My single room with shared toilet and shower was fairly small but perfect for what I wanted - a good value central London hotel where I could sleep in a clean and comfortable bed. There are no frills, as you would expect for the price, but it was very clean and perfect for what I wanted.

OK for 1 night

This is a handy but expensive base for St pancreas. Stations just 5 minutes away. However there are other hotels on same road with double glazing so you stand a chance of a night's sleep else where.
The food was adequate but boring. Officially breakfast starts 7am so we had to make do with cereal and white toast for an early start. The bathroom was a bit grubby and no hair drier so i couldn't get a shower. Also we were put in a room across the road from reception so I couldn't be bothered to go in search for assistance. We were only there for 8 hours so it didn't feel like value for money.

Standard over priced London accommodation

Standard double en-suite room . Room was tiny, no ironing facilities or clock. shower head was broken and shower gel in room appeared unpleasant. Typical of a London hotel room, this was over priced, with little in the way of amenities but in a convenient location. I was expecting a premier travel inn or travel lodge level of quality but was disappointed. I feel price should have been in the region of £85 rather than the £111 I paid. I am from Manchester where money appears to go further so maybe I am biased and my critique is a reflection of London hotels in general rather than specifically the Alhambra.

Good level of cleanliness the hotel was adequate for my needs as a one-night stopover, I would stay again but only if it was one night. It was close to the station, restaurants and the venue I was visiting. My room was in the basement, which meant there was some train or underground noise. The room was very small and the basin was outside the en suite.

Central, cheap (for London), clean and friendly!

Walking down Argyle St we were really worried passing the scuddy hotels, but were pleasantly relieved when we got to this hotel.
bad bits: the room was small and being on the top floor (in the attic) the walls sloped so felt claustrophobic. there is no lift, and being on the 3rd floor was a bit annoying. i didnt realise when i booked the bathroom was communal.
good bits: location wise it cant be beaten. the rooms were clean and fairly recently decorated. the staff were really friendly. the breakfast was good and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. the free wifi was also really appreciated.

A nice hotel for a short stay

This trip I traveled individually so I booked a single room. The hotel is very near the Kings Cross St Pancras station. Just about a minute I could walk and drag my luggage to a door with a castle-like logo, which is the front door of the hotel. The receptionist is nice, and the front desk has many leaflets for traveling information.
Step up the stairs came to my single room. Although at a first glance it was small where I could barely fit my suitcase in, the facilities provided are very much appreciated as it provides WiFi, TV, and water kettle, and they look pretty new. The bathroom was clean, and shower facility is easy to control with sufficient water pressure. The bed is moderately soft / hard, so it is more suitable for my back (it is the most comfortable mattress out of the hostels I tried throughout my trip to Europe). In the morning, the breakfast was served downstairs and the staff were nice. I could have choices of English breakfast and Continental breakfast, and the breakfast was prepared quite fast.
The only downside is the noise from the street could be clearly heard, as my room is located just above the front door. Other than this point, the hotel is overall pretty decent for the price.

Convenient location. Clean rooms. Lovely breakfast. Good value

We stayed here for 4 nights mid January after reading the reviews on late rooms and other review sites. The hotel was very conveniently situated for Kings Cross and St Pancras-just 5 minutes walk to the Station and Underground. The hotel lived up to all of its excellent reviews. The breakfast was delicious and the Staff were very helpful and friendly. There are lots of places to eat nearby if you don't want to travel but all in all The Alhambra is an excellent base for visiting Londons sites and attractions.
