The Alhambra is easy to find, opposite St Pancras' front facade. Reception were friendly and helpful. My room had recently been refurbished and included a small flatscren TV with Freeview. Room was clean and road outside surprisingly quiet given its location. Breakfast (starts at 7am) was very good and stylishly presented.
I would definitiely stay here if, again, I needed to catch an early morning train out of KX/StP

We were on the top floor of the apartment which involded climbing very tiny and steep stairs. It was very noisey outside the hotel, but hot inside so with the window closed or open we could not sleep. The bed was hard up on 3 walls and it was a small double which didn't help with the heat factor. Couldn't stay there a second night... needed some sleep!

We stayed in room 1 which is a twin room with the shower and toilet just outside the door which was great as we didnt have far to go but we could hear the loo being flushed all night long . The rooms are very small but this was not a problemn as we only needed somewhere to sleep for the night. The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and comfortable
We had a lovely cooked full English breakfast in the morning along with orange juice, toast and a choice of tea or coffee. The breakfast wasnt huge but it was sufficent,
All in all a great value for money hotel, ideally situated in central London , very close to Kings Cross station. I would definately recommend it to anyone wanting a cheap and cheerful place to stay

I took my five-year old son to London to visit the Natural History Museum, etc. and we stayed for one night at the Alhambra. Well, I don't have any real complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable enough, if on the small side (normal for central London, I guess). We had a twin without toilet & shower (Room 2), but there was a toilet immediately outside our door. I did fear that we would be listening to other guests using the toilet all night, but, thankfully, that didn't happen. It was possible too hear underground trains every three minutes in that room, though, but that didn't really affect our sleep. Breakfast was good. Luckily, we had our breakfast at about 7:30 - there were a lot of people waiting for a table to become available twenty minutes later. We enjoyed our stay at the Alhambra. At 70 per night the cost was acceptable. Had they charge 60 per night, it would have been good value for money.

We brought two of our grandchildren (aged 8 & 10) to London for a short break to celebrate their birthdays. We arrived mid morning, and although the room wasn't completely ready, we were allowed to go in and leave our luggage. The room was very clean and tidy on our return, with everything you would want, including tea, coffee making facilities. The only slightly down side was that the room was on the small side for 4 people.
The breakfast was great with everything you could want and they didn't skimp on anything either, the kids loved it. As they are both vegetarians this is no mean feat.
As we were leaving the lady on reception was talking to the children and giving us ideas on where to take them.
All in all, a very pleasant stay, would recommend it.

The Alhambra is in Argyle Street which is literally opposite St Pancras. In that street, it has the most attractive of the many hotel signs and a reception and rooms to match. Rooms are not huge but they are clean and comfortable and very acceptable. We did not have the breakfast as had to leave early. We were on ground floor by street but it was a pretty quiet street - amazing really as it was just off the Euston Road. Our friends slept on 2nd floor and had a good night's sleep also.

This hotel was booked for me by a colleague to stay in whilst working 3 days in London. Centrally situated but that meant incredibly noisy- only slept from 2-5am before the traffic started up. My room had no en suite so had to go upstairs for loo or shower which I hadn't anticipated. No kettle in room but they did supply one on request. It was relatively clean but furnishings old and worn.
Breakfast was nice and the staff were pleasant and courteous at all times.

Positives: Very surprised at the level of quality especially when compared to some of the dodgy looking hotels nearby. Room very clean, decent sheets, storage and flat screen tv. Good internet connection and free. Breakfast great with choice of Full English or Continental. Excellent location within 2 mins of Kings and St Pancras stations.
Negatives: Bewares there is no lift to top floor. Its an older converted house so lots of steps and up and down between rooms on the same floor ( I heard one guest get caught out as she turned a corner not anticipating the drop and she was a right state as she dropped 10 cm without realising). Shower room quite small with no where to hang your clothes. Just one extra hanger would come in really useful
Overall: I am will stay here again

I felt that in a place that was liked by the people working there, which is very important at making a hotel stay feel comfortable. It may not be the snazziest hotel in London, but I'd definitely stay there again and would (in fact did) recommend it to friends. There's plenty going on nearby too if you get off the main streets and find the little hostelries and eateries. Splendid!

Just remember when staying here that the hotel...
Just remember when staying here that the hotel is a conversion of two town houses, so the corridors can be narrow and access in rooms a little tight compared to modern, purpose built hotels. Apart from that, I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Its convenient for the Eurostar and central London. My room was quiet, decently refurbished, and value for money (for Central London !) is good. I was told that breakfast started at 7 am, but as the staff were in, I was able to get food close to 6 am, so full marks for customer service.

My room was provided for me, and I was not happy to find that it was not ensuite, with the toilet and separate shower room close by, nevertheless. Nor was there any teamaking equipment.............however, for the price the room was perfectly adequate, with a comfortable bed and crisp white sheets, and I heard no noise whatsoever during the night. The shower room was rather poor, and the regulator hard to adjust to the right temperature. Breakfast was available from 7am but when I expressed dismay, as I had to leave at 7, I was told to go down earlier when a continental breakfast could be arranged. I turned up at 6.40 and was warmly greeted by a charming man who offered me a full English breakfast. He was most attentive and the breakfast room, in the basement, was light and clean and well furnished. That was a pleasant surprise. There is not a lift, so my room on the top (3rd) floor was awkward for an elderly lady with two suitcases! Had I been a couple, I would have thought it tremendous value for money.

On arrival at 9am we were allowed to change for the wedding in a room they made available which was more than we exopected at that time of the morning. We needed to leave for the wedding b y 10.15 they gave us our room numbers and allowed us to pay up front which enabled us to nominate 1 person from our party to collect the keys and put our luggage into the rooms. The hotel was extremly handy for kings cross and on the sunday allowed us to leave our lugage until we left for the train. The hospitality was better than expected and we would use this place again if were only in London for a short stay. If we needed to stay longer the rooms were too small.

Hotel is split into different buildings. I was directed to a property on the opposite side of the street to reception (no 20). My room was a double bedded room in the basement. It was cramped, and a bit claustrophobic. There were nail clippings on the bed covering, otherwise it was clean. You could hear noise from other rooms. There was also continuous railway noise, although this was not a problem from midnight to 4.30am. Breakfast was served in the building where reception was, and so you had to go back over the street ot get breakfast. I was seated straightaway, but when I left there was a long queue of people waiting for a table. If these people had trains to catch (the hotel prides itself on being 5 minutes away from St Pancras), they would not have been pleased! Breakfast was satisfactory, but there is simply not enough tables for the number of bedrooms. I would suggest that the hotel has grown over the years by taking on additional buildings separate from the main original buildings, and has not got adequate facilities to serve the additional rooms. The value was not bad for Central London, but I would go to one of the hotels nearby.

The hotel was reasonable value given it was a few weeks before Christmas and everywhere seemed booked up. Room was clean, staff were friendly, the breakfast room was excellent-bright ad airy, good service, great English breakfast.
However, our room was tiny, barely enough room for the bed and a wardrobe, and only one shower and toilet for the whole floor is shocking, particularly as the shower gets dirty quickly and there is not even any dry space to hang your clothes and get changed so you either run through the corridor in a towel or let them get wet in the spray/on the floor. Therefore there was no way the hotel was worth 70/night.

The hotel did not have a lift, thus we had to lug our heavy luggages up 3 narrow floor steps! The room was small and barely had enough space to walk once our luggages were settled. The shared bathroom and toilet were clean. Provided towels and a sink in the room which was a plus. But seeing we only stayed for a night, we grit out teeth about it. This hotel located across the King Cross St. Pancras station, convenient for Eurostar/Underground travellers. Although our stay came with breakfast, we did not have it as we left very early.
If you do not have heavy luggages and want a quick night stay, location wise its reasonably acceptable.

The room was tiny. The hot water from the sink in the room wasn't too hot (not even a kettle to heat some water to get a decent shave) and the shared shower was terrible! The curtains hung off at an angle and so light came shining through as soon as the sun rose. Check out was 11am , but we had someone come into our room at half ten. Positives-
the breakfast was decent and the chef friendly/welcoming.
The dining area was clean.
Receptionist was pleasant.
Negatives-
Renovation work going on in the hotel with narrow passageways.
The room smelled heavily of smoke despite asking for a non-smoking room.
The carpet was dusty and there were stains/rubbish in the drawers of the bedside table.
The room was exceptionally hot and minimal ventilation therefore requiring the window to be left open all night. In view of the fact that the room fronts onto Argyll street this was a big mistake as the street noise was relentless until 3am with drunks shouting, cars revving and racing up the street!
No alarm clock in the room- but then the street noise prevents you from sleeping anyway so I guess its not needed!
There was only one WC and shower on the first floor and this was at the other side of the building and NOT outside the room as described in the advert.
Cold water supply to the sink in the room runs hot for about 2minutes presumably because the supply runs too close to the hot pipe supply. Not sure if it is a mains supply drinking water feed to the sink- I suspect not.
Why are B&Bs in the UK so shoddy in standard with tired decor and poor furniture? Compared to similar properties abroad the UK falls way short.

My boyfriend and I stayed over in London on the 12th April as he was running the London Marathon the next day. The hotels location is very convenient, only a minutes walk from Kings Cross station, which provides you with great access to the rest of London. The hotel and room were basic but clean, tidy and comfortable. We weren't made aware of any lifts and we were on the third floor so if you're not able bodied then it would be worth requesting a lower floor. The breakfast was fantastic and of good quantity and quality, a choice of cereals, toast or full english, with tea, coffee and orange juice. The thing that i would most recommend about this hotel were the staff, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even after we'd checked out they gave us a safe place to store our luggage for the day until we returned for our train home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere clean and comfortable to rest their head for a night.

I was surprised at just how close I was to St Pancras- very handy for the early Eurostar train! The staff were lovely and let me leave a suitcase at the hotel all day until quite late. The breakfast was very good and lots of it. Some of the reviews complain about lack of lifts and porters- ridiculous! If you want a 4 star hotel then be prepared to pay 4 star prices. The breakfast was WONDERFUL. By far, the best part of the stay. There is no elevator - they left 2 women to drag heavy luggage up 4 flights of narrow, sloping, twisting stairs alone -with some floors being dark with the lights off. Supplied a cheap plastic, 3 inch square alarm clock, don't offer wake up calls at all. The shower was a plastic shell IN the bedroom - the shower door opens right into the room itself. Definitely not for the shy. Took nearly 20 minutes before the water changed from ice cold to warm enough to get in. And the toilet was one flight down and was in a cubbyhole about the size of the crawl space you'd find under one's staircase. Looked just like one too. Found bugs in the bed and in the toilet. Or rather, bugs found us. Not many, but they were there.
But it worked and was convenient to King's Cross which we needed early the next day. Food was so good, it nearly made up for it.
