Located two minutes from the Euston Road exit from King's Cross/St Pancras station. There was no shower or toilet in the bedroom, which I was aware of when booking but the toilet was small and had no hand washing facilities. There was hair in the shower, which was a very basic arrangement. I didn't stay from breakfast so I can't comment on that. No lift and narrow corridors, if that is an issue, it wasn't for me. Staff were very nice and free wifi helped. Just about worth it at the price for a no fuss overnight.

I was rather surprised, having stayed at other hotels in the area for similar prices, at the small size of the room and that the room was not en-suite. The bed was relatively comfortable, it must be said, however. It is entirely possible that I merely failed to notice information about bathroom facilities and room size when booking but, ultimately, I was disappointed, having expected more.

The Alhambra was pretty much what we expected, a small, basic but clean and comfortable room that we could retire to after a day's sightseeing. Breakfast was very good and sustained us until well past lunch time, service was quick and efficient. The area can be a bit noisy in the early hours but this didn't disturb us. Overall a decent enough place to spend a couple of nights.

i wish i could say i've stayed in worse, but not honestly sure i have... the staff were friendly, and admittedly i should have noticed that the room wasn't en suite, but for the price, given that other rooms in the area are offered at an equivalent rate, with en suite, i thought it was quite poor - and there was no direction given to the shared facilities - either from staff or signposting. The room itself was quite small (just a double, and not even sure the bed qualified as a proper double), the curtain's barely met in the middle and the noise from the street was very loud - what i though was a train leaving st pancras was actually a wheely suitcase.... on the upside the wi-fi was free, which was good, but otherwise if you're not into backpacking, one to avoid.

Stayed here whilst working over near Waterloo station. Hotel itself is straight across the road from St Pancras and Kings Cross, so ideally situated. Room itself was quite small, but adequate and considering the price, pretty good value for money. Breakfast is served at the main hotel part (they have two converted houses across the street, where I stayed) and was fine. No real complaints, and I'd stay here again if I was working in that area. If all you need is a place to get your head down, it's as good as any.

My own fault for accidentally booking a room with 'shared facilities' but it wasn't made very clear. For no en-suite the price was very expensive i thought (experienced that 'gutted' feeling when handing over my card at the end of the stay) and with some planning you could find a far nicer place. I personally wouldn't have minded shared facilities (having spend many years at university in similar conditions) but these were particularly poor. The shower and toilet weren't even on the same floor and the latter didn't even have a handbasin! So you were expected to walk all the way back downstairs to your room before washing hands. other than that, the place was relatively clean, one receptionist was very pretty and helpful, the other shared neither grace.the area is improving but still not great. Soulless and full of prostitutes. Hard to find a decent pub/restaurant to eat within 15mins walk. Having said that, it is only 5mins walk from king's cross station so leaving isn't a problem. The second night of my stay i slept on a friend's couch rather than here.stay if you can get a very very cheap price, otherwise i'd say avoid.

For a budget one night stop over in London, this hotel is more than adequate. With a late rooms deal, I paid £65 for B&B, a stone's throw from Kings Cross/Pancreas station. The room was clean and, whilst not large, was better than many a single room I have been allocated in a 4* hotel - a double bed which I could walk round. I only had cereal and toast for breakfast but the cooked breakfast looked good and was freshly cooked when ordered. Owners perfectly charming. Would use again.

Reception area as always was fresh and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel all seemed a bit worn and tired but smelt fresh and clean. The room was pretty threadbare and although it was fine a couple of the light fittings didn't work and the hot water in the taps and shower needed to be run for several minutes before any hot water came out.It is so close to St Pancras that it was worth the lack of any frills for one night. Not all rooms are ensuite so check.

When I booked the room at the Alhambra, someone from the hotel called my mobile to say at the same time it was confirmed through the website, a person had walked into the hotel and booked at the desk and therefore could I stay at another hotel 100 yards up the road called The Princess. (likely story...................)I enquired if The Princess was of a similar standard and cleanliness and also more imprtantly that someone should be expecting me at 1130pm - as I did not want to be hanging around Kings Cross at Midnight. The person from the Alhambra confirmed that this would all be in place. When arriving at the Alhambra and after being taken to the Princess nobody was there and I had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to arrive, upon arrival the person from the Princess stated that I had "secured a double room" because of the change of hotel - as though I had won the lottery, the room was tiny, 1970's pine decor, on the gound floor and very noisy from the people who were running the reception desk chatting until the early hours. Then to cap it all the fire alarm went off (for no reason) at 430 in the morning. All in all it was shambolic and I definitely will not be booking through Laterooms again or staying at the Alhambra or even the Princess Hotel!!!!!!

The room itself was okay - clean, and not too small. The LCD cable tv was good - or it would have been, if I could have seen it - but as they'd mounted it above the *head* end of the bed, that wasn't as easy as it should have been. Noise levels were also okay (I had a room at the back of the hotel).I had resisted staying here before because of the shared toilets/showers. But it can't be too bad, I thought - it gets very good ratings from people. However, it's remarkable just how inconvenient having one toilet shared between several rroms can be when nature isn't just calling, but is screaming in your ear through a megaphone. It's also remarkable just how long some people take in the shower. What do they do in there? (On second thoughts, I don't want to know!)Breakfast was okay, if a bit limited - it was either/or, rather than than the "buffet (eg, cereal, pastries, fruit salad) plus full English" that other hotels in the same price bracket manage to do. Also, the tea was very weak - one tea bag in a large pot (although someone I spoke to at breakfast this morning said the coffee was very nice).All-in-all, it seemed below average at the price level, with the added disadvantage of shared toilets/showers. And the 3% surcharge for credit card payments make it even less competitive.

Small basic room but very clean My room...
Small basic room, but very clean. My room was not en-suite but good value for money. No drink making facility in the room, which is a bit of let down. The reception is simple, stylish, clean and manned by polite welcoming receptionists. I would quite happily stay again.

Our room was in the attic and had a 3/4 bed with communal shower room right next door which was very noisy especially as people arriving late and showering. Hotel plumbing sounded right through our room.Have to say staff were lovely.

This was as expected for the price. £80 got us a basic twin room with shower and toilet outside the door. 3 rooms share a toilet, we were the furthest away which we were glad of, I wondered if the two rooms that were next to the toilet would get much noise. Shower was fine, flat screen tv in room with acceptable storage and tea/coffee making facilities. I couldn't have stayed for more than 1 night, but we were in London for a gig so were literally just sleeping in the room and for this it was fine. I've paid more in London and had a worse room!

I had to spend a night in London and my usual place I liketo stay in was booked full. I was not impressed with this place as the room was incrediblly small, shared bathroom/toilet facilities which I have experienced better elsewhere and a very mediocre breakfast. So all in all I would look for another Hotel in London if I had to stay overnight. Also I found the price to be high compared to what I have experienced through other bookings through Laterooms.com
