Alexandra Hotel out of 5 Customer Rating

The breakfast was very poor, had to serve yourself, Tesco value bread, cheap cheese and meat, expected a cooked breakfast, so very disappointed. Wasn't in the main hotel, felt less safe as no reception in our building. No heating in the room. Poor standard of bathroom. No control for TV. Concern that our 1 key fitted main front door and our room, we worried that everyone's key would then open our door.

Perfect location

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. We chose it because of it's location and a very good price. We arrived early morning and were greeted by a very nice receptionist. We could leave our bags in the hotel which was just perfect as we wanted to go to explore London straight away. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. It couldn't be any better!
Our rooms were very clean and maybe a little plain but just what we needed. Warm at night, but not too hot. Very good pressure in the shower, quite a big bathroom. The only minus are paper thin walls so we could hear people areound us but that's normal in such an old building.
Good breakfast, very nice staff and a perfect location. We would stay again.

Good value for money

A small, clean hotel, with a very convenient location to West End shopping and Hyde Park events.

Room very hot, no air conditioning, if windows open noisy from traffic. Breakfast poor, no cooked breakfast, ? how long the yogourts, meats and cheese had been left out. Orange juice obviously watered down. Staff not very friendly.

Dreadful

Twin room was at the top of about 6 creaky, narrow staircases. Bed was uncomfortable and waterproof undersheet made it slippery so sheets slid off. "Bathroom" was a joke - more like a converted wardrobe. Sink had no plug, toilet so close to sink as to make it impossible to stand at sink, shower plug hole blocked so whilst showering the whole bathroom flooded. Disgusting.
And all this supposedly for £180/night, but positioned on laterooms.com as a bargain at £77. No way!

Cheap hotel, nothing special

Small room but a cheap price. Clean enough, breakfast was unspectacular.

Great Location

The room was huge and could sleep 5. It was also incredibly hot. The night was one of the coldest but I had to open the windows to breathe, and this made me feel rather vulnerable as the room was down in the basement. Some minor problems with the basin taps, nothing serious. Annoying to have to visit reception to get a TV remote and pay £10 for the privilege (refundable). Overall fine but not exceptional.

Not the Alexandria

Very poor standard. Shabby room not in the hotel but across the street. No remote for the telly. No hot water in the morning. You normally get what you pay for but in this case you get even less.

Good value for money

The radiator in the room did not work, even though it was a freezing cold night outside the room was comfortable to sleep in. I was offered another room but i was ok to stay where i was placed, no big deal. All offered with polite speaking staff. Many thanks.

Staff were very friendly and polite, room small and bathroom tiny, but still good value for what we payed. Excellent venue for traveling into the city and conveniently close to Paddington Station.
Only disadvantage was our room was right next to staircase so we could hear people going up and down when we were trying to sleep.

Great location and value hotel

The location of this hotel close to Paddington station is a real bonus. It is surrounded by a multitude of places to eat and drink but it is not noisy in the evenngs. A bit like a little village within a big city. Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
