Fabulous

My daughter and I stayed for a shopping weekend. The apartment was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly. It is one of the very nicest hotels I have stayed in.

Taj 51

Having stayed in several other hotels in the Taj chain overseas we knew what to expect from 51. We were not disappointed. Every member of staff we met were courteous and couldn't do more for us.

A pleasantly memorable experience

From the moment we arrived, my wife and I were treated with respect, friendliness and a warmth rarely experienced nowadays. The accommodation was superb and the food enjoyed in Bistro 51 was perfect. That little extra plate of complimentary chocolates for my wife's birthday was the icing on the cake. Throughly recommended and we will certainly be coming back for more!

The room was perfect for what we wanted but unfourtunatly the waiting staff were rude and abrupt. We were ignored when we were waiting outside for service and when we eventually found someone to serve drinks we were told that we have to go and ask someone else. When we did find someone else we were told that the bar was closing and that we would have to pay now for the two drinks that we had. Not what you would expect for a 5* hotel. Newspapers weren't delivered as promised.

We stayed at 51 last weekend, as a special trip to London to see the Ballet at the Royal Opera House. From the description on Late Rooms we were expecting something closer to Covent Garden, but in hindsight we are so glad that it was 51 we stayed at. I seriously doubt that you could find a hotel (it's suites really) with better service ANYWHERE in London. And I don't mean pathetic shoe grovelling either - the staff there were genuinely friendly and chatty, putting people like us who were unaccustomed to that level of service, completely at ease.

A little piece of heaven in London

We loved this hotel from the moment we arrived, staff where very helpful and informative. We loved the fact that this hotel is central but is tucked away in it's own courtyard garden. We had a really super room, it was very comfortable and well equiped with kitchen and mini bar with everything!!!!! Breakfast was an experence in itself, with great choice and super food. We will stay at this hotel again.

The WOW factor

WOW, From the moment we arrived we were treated fantastically well. Nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was a happy one. I have stayed in 5 Star hotels alot and this was well above the standard expected. We got upgraded aswell when we checked it. I could not fault anything about our stay or the accomodation.

A perfect hotel in a perfect London location

We found the staff attentive and helpful from the moment we set foot in the courtyard. It was good to have a personal introduction to our suite by a butler.
We were impressed by the servicing to the room - including the quality of the cleaning and the additional personal touch when the room was prepared early in the evening.
We weren't able to take advantage of the spa, as we had not been aware of its existence at the point of booking but would be keen to make use of the facilities next time.
In all, we have only praise for the hotel.

From start to finish this was a memorable experience, professional, discrete welcoming staff, fabulous apartment with every amenity, complimentary champagne and canapes in the evening. very central for touring London and a selection of on site restaurants and bars. I will definitely stay here again. Not cheap but you get a lot for your money

When I booked this hotel was a little worried when I was the pictures online I thought it looked a little sterile with little character, couldn't have been further from the truth!! The room was beautiful, tastefully and quite classically decorated to a very high standard. 5 mins walk from Buckingham Palace this hotel is perfectly placed to enjoy the sights. The staff were fantastic and we genuinely felt we could ask for anything and it wouldn't have been a problem. Congratulations to the taj for showing British hospitality at it's best!!

Outstanding!!

I have been fortunate enough to stay in some pretty marvellous hotels and this hotel has now got to be one of my favourites.
The service is absolutely second to none!
I was escorted to my suite as this is an all suite hotel, where I was informed of all the room information I might need. The suite had absolutely everything one could need including my own state of the art equipped kitchen. Sadly I was only staying one night so did not use it except for the fridge.
Calling room service I was greeted personally with my name and told exactly how soon the items I had ordered would be with me.
When I left I was escorted to my taxi.
Only one little gripe is that despite having the do not disturb notice ( most amusingly red or green tassels to hang on the door) the housekeeper knocked at my door but fortunately not too early as I had had a late night. I also got a phone call around 11am (check-out is 12) to check my plans for the day and if everything was OK. No doubt to see if I was still checking out! It was tempting to stay longer!
Despite that I would now never stay anywhere else in London. Yes it's expensive but rest assured you get every penny back in service and room quality.

I stayed in a Junior Suite and found the quality of accommodation and service to be excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the room was very comfortable. It was like having my own private apartment in an exclusive area of London.
